Why I want to work with the most stressed-out people I can find.
...because you guys are some of the most INSPIRING people I have ever met.
You're visionaries, artists, dreamers, and do-ers. You believe, even at your lowest moments, in possibility.
You've usually been through something difficult and haven't let that stop you. Instead, you've used it as motivation to help others or create something that could have helped you when you were struggling.
HELLO, I'M ISABELLA!
I believe in your transformation, because I believed in my own.
I'm a marriage and family therapist who came to this work because I was anxious, depressed, disconnected, reactive, and living a fraction of the life I knew I was meant for.
I've been (and still am!) many things: writer, journalist, actress, singer, dancer, public relations executive, podcast producer, yoga teacher, meditator, healer...you get it. I'm a classic achiever type: excited, ambitious, creative, and sometimes pretty hyper.
But trauma, family dysfunction, and severe nervous system dysregulation brought me to a place where even everyday tasks felt hard. I was angry, and couldn't do the things that excited me. Even when I was achieving, I was constantly stressed and never felt like like I was enough.
An amazing therapist, a coach, meditation, yoga, a growing understanding of neuroscience and psychotherapy modalities (shoutout IFS!), and my family and friends.
Now, I bring those very things into my work with clients, combining my systemic therapy training from Southern Connecticut State University with the neuro-somatic tools I've picked up along the way for a holistic therapy experience that is designed to bring out and help you experience your own wholeness.
A few things helped me transform..
There is nothing wrong with you.
The path through anxiety, shame, depression, trauma, and dysregulation isn't random for anxious high achievers
I see it as an initiation. I believe this journey can bring depth, perspective, compassion, humor, humility, and understanding that you might not have had otherwise.
I want to help guide you through it, because THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU. You're in the middle of something difficult, and you might just need a little help navigating.
And once you find your footing? Oh my gosh, imagine what's possible for you.
